If I remember right, you should start weaning them when they're around four to six weeks old, but it can't be just straight solid food. Mix it with water and sort of...crunch the food up so it's almost an oatmeal consistency.
The AKC has several articles on weaning, and there are lots of vet sites.
Speaking of vets, make an appointment! The puppies have to get lots of vaccines & such, some as early as three weeks.
