Ladies and Gentlemen, you are about to witness a unique event in history. The very first and very last time that the Wife is going to let me speak on behalf of both of us.

First of all - A big thank you to my Beautiful Bride.
Janice, I just want to say, in front of our families and dearest friends, that I love you and hope that every day will be as happy as today. ...Just not as expensive.

My Father once gave me some wise advice that I've taken to heart. He said, "Son, make sure that the woman that you marry really is the one that makes you happy. Because she is going to be the first thing you see every day, and the last thing you see before you go to sleep at night. If she makes you happy - then you will be happy the rest of your life. If not, then every morning won't be such a good one". In all honesty, although today has been a great day, I can't wait to start our lives together tonight, tomorrow and every day after that.

(pause for her to reply)

Thank you to all of you for attending this special day for the both of us. Thank you to my parents for raising me, and giving me the responsibilities that have made me grow into the man I am today. The great thing about today, is that I also officially get another set of "Mom and Dad" to thank as well - for giving me their blessing when I had asked their permission to marry Janice, as well as for giving me such a warm welcome into their family.

(hand over to Janice - insert thanks to her parents)

To Karl, my best man - thank you for being there for me, and for us - right from the beginning. Seeing as you gave me the last bit of courage I needed to ask Janice out in high school - All of this (gesturing to everything) is your fault! Thanks a million.

(pause for Janice to thank Karen (maid of honour))

To the Groomsmen, the Bridesmaides, and our sponsors - Thanks for all of your support throughout the years. Especially Eugene and Eileen - for not ratting me out to mom and dad for having a girlfriend in the earlier stages.

(pause for Janice to thank the bridal party)

Everyone, thank you again for being here today, for the wonderful gifts, for your good wishes and most of all for your friendship now and in the future. Here’s to a wonderful evening...
