The worst part, I guess, is how hard it is to fire government officials without seeming like you are being racist or sexist. Even when a scandal like this shows up, if more minorities are targeted, you're sure to see somebody complaining that only that specific race was targeted and their jobs should be reinstated.
This example isn't as bad as most, but it still happens.
