Fatal 99% of the time. Even if that number is right (seems high) there's always that 1% that heals normally. It's important to remember that some guy saying "I heal you!" and the person appearing to heal doesn't prove a causal relationship, not even close.

I mean, this stuff is always going around. It's not too hard to imagine how they can appear to actually be healers, maybe even that they can believe it themselves. No actual proof, just a lot of stories about some people recovering (no mention of those that don't) and a lot of appeal to people's willingness to believe something "magic".
When one of these guys can heal people in a controlled setting, and it be proven in a scientific way that the person didn't just heal normally, then I might believe it.
