I remember the first time I finally hit 135, I felt so good. A couple of my friends made fun of me because they could bench 145 easily, but then I pointed out that the first time they benched they were benching 135, so they effectively only gained 10 pounds on their bench..whereas the first time I benched I was becnhing 65, so I effectively gained 70 pounds on my bench...needless to say I've left them in the dust since
moral of the story: forget what your friends say, feel good about your progress.
