I'd probably steer clear of the ones on the Infomercial, things are rarely as good as they appear.

I've had a Waring Pro bar blender for years that makes awesome frozen drinks, and smoothies as well - it blends everyhting
-plus it's great for soups and stuff - it's not got a lot of bells an whistles, but it's a blender, not a nucleur reactor.
