well, here's an update to Yzerman's condition. good news: he's expected to make a full recovery. bad news: he's out for the remainder of the playoffs.

Steve Yzerman underwent 4 1/2 hours of surgery after being struck on the left side of his face with a deflected shot during the second period of a 1-0 loss to the Calgary Flames in Game Five of their Western Conference series and will be sidelined indefinitely.
Yzerman suffered a scratched cornea and multiple fractures to the orbital bone. He experienced blurred vision in his left eye, which improved following surgery at Henry Ford Hospital.
