I don't understand it when more than one person can do this. If it was just one person you could chalk it up to an isolated case of mental disturbance, but how can a sense of decency be so devoid between people in a group?
Like those soldiers who abused those Iraqis, it would be one thing if it was just one soldier being crazy, but the (at least) 2 soldiers and the photographer just all happened to be morally absent. This group mentality scares me, that some people actually band together like animals to do this kind of stuff to people. I wish I could understand it... well, maybe I don't wish to understand.
