Sadly, that was one of the worst things about the engine when it was in the tank. It made them even more likely to be a death trap for the crew than tanks ordinarily are.

What I can't imagine is how you can make an 1800 cubic INCH motor, wrapped in a tank chassis and shell, air cooled. And I wonder what the redline is on that engine. I'm guessing 3000 RPM or so. Would be a hell of a stump puller!

But in the final analysis, I love it! I'm a DIY guy from way back and love unlikely projects like this.
