Your favorite rock/metal DVD. ~reviews~

I personally like to collect rock/metal concert DVDs. Just curious on what other favorites are out there. Please list comments not only about the live show but also on audio/video quaility and extras that are contained on the disc.

Ozzy Osbourne - Live at the Budokan:

Video: Very clean, impressive on the HDTV monitor.

Audio: Audio was mixed in 5.1 DD, very good presence of the side/surround speakers.

Content: As mentioned, the show was very clean and looked good. I am an adrenaline junkie and feed from energy. This is Ozzy, not too much "energy" being put forth/given by a sold out crowd at the Budokan. But, the show flows nicely and the music is tight. A must for Ozzy fans.

EXTRA: Great behind-the-scenes of the family on tour. Not to mention the very impressive solo by the master of flare on the six string. (who's your god now)

Slayer: War at the Warfield

Video: Clean. The lighting is very dark.

Audio: Stereo and DD. (careful the default is stereo). The sound was tight and clean and the double bass truely sounded amazing. The highs were high and the lows were low.

Content: This is your typical Slayer show without having to go through the blood, sweat and tears.... I thought the show was captured well, although they could have brought the crowd in more in reponse to the music to capture that aggression.

Extra:There is lots of public response to the band. (OMG they really picked some interesting people to interview to say the least).

Slipknot: Diseaster Pieces

Audio: Mixed in DD. Well, this was a big let down for me..... Man, what a weak audio mix. The low end groove that makes this band what they are was not mixed well for this DVD.

Video: A nice touch. The grity filter was used for the prelude of this DVD up until the curtain drops. The video is sharp after this and lighting is good.

Content: What kind I say, probably one of the best "build up" moments captured on DVD.. The suspence was mounting for sure. IMHO. Besides the lacking low end, the show was great. Great musical highlights by each member in the band. Nice shots of the crowd really added to the presentation and captured the moment. A must for all you maggots out there !

EXTRA: This is a two disc set. There is a DVD with nothing interviews, behind-the-scenes and their videos. Nice.

MORE reviews TO COME: Alright, what do you boys got?
