In Ontario, all alchoholic "carry out" drinks are sold by one of two monopolies. "The Beer Store", a government/beer company controlled store, and "The LCBO" (aka, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario). Hours vary depending on location. Typically, they close between 5 and 10.

The advantage is the LCBO's, which are relatively common, carry huge massive varieties of liquor, and a random The Beer Store typically have 50 to 100+ different brands in stock.

The LCBO is also in charge of liscencing locations that sell alchoholic with or without meals, and semi-private functions that do the same.
