Hey rat! Yes, you're losing signal quality and strength through the intermediate boxes. What does the RF converter do? Is it there to convert it for your older-model tv? There are just a few things you can do: run it direct to your tv and switch the cables depending on what you want to use, or shop for a higher-quality switch box combination. I suppose I could suggest getting a newer tv, but that's obviously going to cost more than the switch boxes.
