Huh. I've definitely heard of this before, but I'm not so sure it would be something I'd want to do. However, explaining why will be a bit of a tangent, so bear with me: I'm assuming I'm not alone here in that for most, if not all, of my everyday life I'm not conscious of my breathing. My brain takes care of it and I just do my thing. However, I find that if I think about breathing (ie. if I hold my breath maybe these hiccups will go away) then it's hard to get my brain to take back over, that is to turn it from a conscious exercise back into an unconscious one. And man....it's got to be the most annoying thing ever. Because I've discovered one thing: my brain is way better than I am at breathing. I always end up breathing too little and ending up short of breath, or too much and hyperventialting and getting all dizzy. It's one of those things you need to stop thinking about to stop thinking about. Anyways...yeah. That probably wasn't worth the space it took up, but....*ahem*. My two cents.
