Help w/ Washed Out DVD display
I've got a 5-disc dvd changer from Toshiba that has done great for a long time. Thing is, it's now running through an automatic A-B switch to an RF converter, then through analog coax to my (old) TV.
When I have it set up like this, the image quality is TERRIBLE--it's like the contrast goes out of control. Hot spots in the image burn out completely, and everything else is very dark. By mucking with the contrast and brightness on my TV, I can get a nearly acceptable image, but it's still not good, and I hate that I have to fuck with it that much.
I'm told that it has something to do with copy protection, of all stupid things. But the thing is, my XBox (which is the B on that A-B switch) looks the same--all washed out and way too dark.
This has been the case now with TWO A-B switches and RF adapters.
Thoughts? Solutions? Commiseration?
