I've stated elsewhere that Zero Tolerance policies make Zero Sense.
There is NO room for the school admistration to consider the specific circumstances.
That being said, one of the reasons for these policies is the sue happy nature of our society, where schools are getting sued because little Bobby/Jamal/Ashley/whoever wasn't made Valedictorian.
We are reaping what we have sown.
