I was talking to farmers about this (hey.. Wisconsin.. working in a cattle feed store.. they knew their cows).. they said it was possible to shock them and push them over before they realised what was happening.. but them hitting the ground would cause their rips to snap and pierce all kinds of internal organs.. causing them to die.
I've been too scared to test the theory.
