cable companies are allowed to pretty much air anything that they want i think. its up to advertisers to decide whether or not they are going to run ads during shows. many pull out when shows become potentially too racy, sexual, or vulgar. i dont think that cable companies are subject to the same censors that network television is subject to, thats why you see shows like the Shield getting away with nudity (they had an episode with a while bunch of backside nudity going on at the end.)

i think as long as a show has the support of its advertisors, then they are allowed to go on with pretty much anything that they'd like. BTW, Comedy Central has also aired the Southpark Movie a number of times, completely uncut, unedited, and unbleeped. now imagine that.
