You could just take a crap, mold it into the shape of a DVD and give them back their copy. You did say "Signs" right?
No, seriously. If they're going to charge you $60+ to replace the damn thing just buy a new copy and slap it in there. It is dishonest, but to be fair you're replacing their crappy copy with brand new swag. You're not screwing them out of a product; you're just refusing to be bent over by the man. It's not like the movie jockey behind the counter is going to notice it isn't the original. If they do, so what? God forbid you lose you "right to rent" at Blockbuster.
