If you want to get a head start, here's a few steps I'd take:

1. Buy the textbook you'll be using.

2. Find the current website for the class you'll be taking, and see if they posted a sylabus and homework problems. For example, I go to UC San Diego, so I'd go to www.ucsd.edu and eventually find this page: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~gnagy/teac...ter04/Math20A/

3. Follow the sylabus, learning from the textbook and doing the homework problems listed on the website.

4. ???

5. Profit!
