A few years ago, I switched from managing bars to managing for Starbucks. It was a great decision. I still had regular customers, with regular drinks, and witty banter across the bar, but with no alcahol involved, it was a lot easier to take. I also liked starting the day at 4am rather than ending it then.
I will never go back to bartending. Or any kind of foodservice for that matter. Good luck to you, OK. I hope it gives you some great material to use in your writing!
