I personlly think the crt for gaming and tft not is allready behind us, most tft screens offer very sharp pictures with almost no ghosting...
only think you might consider is when buying a large tft is that those screen have 1 native resolution, and lets say for a 17" that's somewhere around the 1280*xxxx resolution. All other resolutions are interpolated thus reduce image quality. So that means if you want to fully benifit your screen you also have to have a machine that can run games at a high resolutions...
