I've never been a huge fan of the genre. Particularly the "hack and slash" freddy/jason style movies, so I can't give much comment on those.

Those slasher flicks are never scary, just good clean fun if you enjoy gorefests
On a side note, Mothman phenomena has been reported in a small town in Texas within the past few months. I don't remember where exactly, I just remember reading about it briefly, I'm curious as to what might have resulted because of it, hrm, I might have to do some research.
