Yes, Sharereactor rocked. But, as for speed, you should be experiencing bittorrent being like a bullet train compared to a .... mule.
Bittorrent should be extremely fast...it's my guess that you're trying to download things that for whatever reason don't have a lot of seeds or something. But even then it should be faster than edonkey
