Im2smrt- was hoping to see you on this thread- always like hearing from another Blade guy- and as you know I hold the ABS in the highest regard ( I've seen your tests...)
thanks for the rundown on the stainless- I tend to agree with you on the forging v.s. stock removal thing, though there are some people out there who are violently opposed- usualy on the grounds of it being a "too small to notice" difference that badmouths stock removal knifemakers ect- me, if it were a my ass on the line situ- give me forged stuff
on the surgical stainless my info came from the Goddard book I cited- also never seen it listed by any of my suppliers- interesting and makes sense though- all surgical instruments are trashed after one use though-
Thank you for the info on Aus-6 and 8- had never gotten the low down on those and I sell a few blades made with it.....
funny enough, but the best knife I own that I did not make myself is a kuhkri From nepal- most on the market are crap, but the good ones are nothing short of incredible....
