I wouldn't really say that it was the same though, as the police uniform is an actual uniform while a short skirt, for example, is a whole category of clothing article. i was going to link to "my short skirt" from the vagina monologues somewhere, but i find it really hard to find any transcripts online, sorry. and the perception of what a hooker wears is a bit more subjective and defined by society, while police uniforms are defined to be recognized in order that people might know that they were a police officer.
