I have access to an older, but still useful database of electronic circuits that have appeared in periodicals.
I can search by device, so I ran a search and here are some of the results for "556" that look like they might make sounds.
These articles can then be requested through your library inter-library loan system, and can usually be faxed/scanned to your library from libraries that have that issue.
