I'll have to recommend the movie
Wasabi with Jean Reno.
It's a French-made action movie set in Japan in which he discovers he has a 19 year old daughter. You really have to watch it in the original French with English subtitles to get the right feel for the movie.
Did I mention you can see Jean Reno attempt to play DDR? For that scene alone it's worth the rental fee.
