Recently at the GDC (Game Developers Conference) Gave Newell told everyone that production for Half-Life 3 has begun with a possibility of being able to play as the female sidekick whom stars alongside Gordon Freeman in HL2.

HL2 has no confirmed release date whatsoever, though it'd be great for it to arrive in June my hopes a slim. From what we saw of the leak in September less than 20% of the game had been completed, apparently they want to rewrite portions of the game now too so any date this side of the year seems incredibly unlikely. I'm vouching for a pre-Christmas 2004 release. I wouldn't put money on anyones "release date".
