djtestudo - I think you missed the point of the other thread... this wasn't some left wing lie, it was a flat-out fact, and one that Spalding apologized for. They pulled the shirts, and the story blew over.
As for the issue at hand- it was a joke, and it was completely inappropriate. Bush thought it was funny, but he's not in danger, and neither is anyone close to him. I find the assertion that the troops are over there *TO* search for WMDs hilarious, especially after noting the UN's stance all along was that there WERE NO WMDs, and our intelligence backs them up on that... but I don't find the fact that our guys and gals are still targets over the issue to be very funny.
