The way they did the atmosphere in Deadwood makes you believe that you're actually there.
Youi can feel the dirt and grittiness, the excitement of looking for gold.
The heightened awareness of your surroundings. Whether you are going to make it to the end of another day, or be killed by an enraged prostitute.
It was just.....cool.
Keith Carradine as Hickok was just like I've read.
And they finally got Martha Jane Canary right, too.
I'm looking forward to more scenes with her in them.
It's too bad that Custer is already dead in this series.
I would have liked to have seen him pass through Deadwood on his way through to his own tragic destiny.
All in all, I'm thrilled with this new series.
I couldn't get into The Sopranos because of cable probs. when it first came out, so I couldn't compare them, TOK.
