Hey guys, new to the group.
SACD and DVD-A is a format war that has been brewing for quite some time now. Great stuff. I am blessed to have a universal player that plays both at their full bandwidth multichannel potential.
Here goes. Hyrbid SACD do come with a stereo track that plays in most standard DVD/CD players. To get the full potential you will need a player / reciever combo. As far as cabling goes, right now you have to use the analogs (RF,LF,C,LR,RR,LFE) back to the reciever where it converts the signal back to digital. This is going to change.
Now, DVD-A recently pushes ahead in this format war. Since everyone is in tune with the term "DVD" all of their new disc are going to be shipped in a "flipped" mode. Where on one side you have the multichannel high res layer, the other side has the stereo track. The DVD-A's will probably push ahead and win this war......
