if you are not in a hurry there is a pretty good way to find out
I had the "just want to be friends" speech once....I was really hung on the girl and that really threw me for a loop...
I ran across some good advice...Give her a good lettin alone
Don't call, don't email, don't drive through her neighborhood.
Do this for a good two maybe three weeks then just "happen" to run into her somewhere. (Or call, or email, etc...) then see what happens. If sparks don't fly...you fly.
It is amazing what clarity the separation will give the both of you
