Heroin - Velvet Underground
I know Lou Reed isn't dead but the greatest rythm guitarist ever, Sterling Morisson, is dead. And the band itself is pretty much dead...some may dispute about whether or not the song is about death, and of course the lyrics all apply to addiction and heroin itself, but he is saying he has made the decision to nullify his life, it seems like the song is about trying to quit before it takes you over the edge into death. But, if I'm still wrong...
