What's funny is that no one researched the information on the site before they started to make a big deal about it.
To be honest, I'm in General Chemistry this semister. I got an 85 on the test with the compond naming concepts on it. I certainly would not have associated dihydrogen monoxide with H_2O without thinking about it for a bit.
I think that this illustrates a disturbing trend with legislators and technical issues in general.
