Okay, last wednessday was my 19th birthday, and Saterday I got together with some of my friends to have a small celebration. My friends showed up, and we all hung out for a bit. Well, my friend Nathan gave me candles.
A little history: Last July I had a couple of candles burning and I went outside to help my mom with yard work. When I got back the smoke alarm went off, and I ran back to my room and found it in a bit of a blaze. I took care of it, putting it out with a blanket, there was minimal damage but still, it was a fire. Well I told Nathan and he laughed, told me "think of it like this, you can always add 'has some experoence fighting fires' to your next resume"
So, Nathan of all people got me candles for my birthday. I gave him hell about it the hole time. With statements like: after all that you're giving me something to burn? and You actually trust me with fire?
His response was: "I'm trusting that you'll be more cautious this time, and I didn't actually give you fire, just candles"
But anyhow, I just thought that was funny.
