Curt Flood lost his case. He wasn't really granted FA, I don't think, just that he was blacklisted and no one would take him.
As for my question:
Burleigh Grimes was a very good pitcher in the teens and '20s, and was eventually elected to the Hall of Fame. What was the one thing that made him special when he retired in 1934?
