Every place I've been, the rule is no touching the dancer, so I sit on my hands. I talk, though, and let her know what a fine thing she's doing and when she's done something particularly exciting. Actually, it's more of a contented growl, most of the time. I like to chat with them afterwards, too - buy them a drink if they're allowed. I'm married and serious about fidelity, but I like to keep a hand in and the skills sharp, as it were and such as they are, and it seems to me to be unambiguously flirtatious, rather than licenscious, with a woman who's job is to flatter me, and yet more honest after I have given what money they will get from me. I've had some really nifty conversations in that situation.
