Adrian Lamo is a computer hacker who used to be homeless and spent his spare time checking proxy settings on major websites for security holes. He gained quite a bit of notoriety by reporting these holes to the company and because he was homeless. Unfortunately, in 2002 he "hacked" the New York Times' computers and they pressed charges. He plead guilty in January and he will probably be sentenced to 6 to 12 months of home-confinement.
Next up: Donald E. Westlake
