Yeah, it cuts down on the microscopic tears that occur during intercourse (vaginal or anal).
Furthermore, the point of wearing a condom is that it's a prophylactic whereas other forms of birth control are not. I.E. NO COMMUNICABLE DISEASES ARE SHARED.

For the receiver as well as the giver. The microscopic tears in the rectum are big welcome signs to bacteria that already existed in there but had no place to go previously. Also, feces and its gang of friends will go up the male's urethra during anal intercourse if a condom is not worn, which will also encourage an infection (UTI or similar).
