My first puppy was a Brittany Spaniel named Corky. He was cream with brown blotches all over and had tons of energy as most puppies do. We didn't keep him for long. We discovered that my Dad was severely allergic to the oils in a water dog's coat. That and he wouldn't quite humping our legs. Come to find out later when we sold him that the guy who bought him had that problem permanantly. The dog wouldn't go out in the field without stopping to hump something. Eventually the guy got him fixed and he still didn't quit. He was a purebred and supposed to be good for show. His parents were mother and son and I think that's where his brain got it's wires crossed.
Our second dog was actually much nicer - got her from the humane society at 3 yrs old or so. A tiny 7lb toy poodle who needed a lot of lovin when we found her and gave a lot of lovin' back until her last day - Last summer when she was 19 years old. That dog would come and lay with you when you were sick and wouldn't leave to even eat hardly until you were better. Daisy was a great loyal dog.
