How do I make IDE and SATA peacefully co-exist?
Hey all,
I'm about 90% done building my dream machine. More Corsair RAM than you could ever need, a P4 2.8 (which I'm hoping to overclock down the road), IC7-MAX3 Mobo and (at present count) three 120 GB HDs and a significantly smaller HD.
Here's my conundrum: I've got two SATA boards and two IDEs. When I check the BIOS, the two SATAs are being seen by the machine as masters, as is one of the IDEs. Do I need to worry about this before installing the OS - or will this take care of itself since they're SATAs?
If not, any ideas on how to make the two work harmoniously together? The SATAs were OEM drives from New Egg, so I'm not sure how to change the jumper setting appropriately.
Thanks!
