The one that gets me every time is actually The Rookie, when Dennis Quaid walks out onto the field in his first major league game. (I figure that isn't really a spoiler since the movie is loosely based off of a true story). Now, I'm not the biggest sports fan in the world, but that's a choked up moment for sure.
As for my 'artsy/classic' moment. If at all possible you should find a copy of 'The Plague' (sometimes titled Albert Camus' The Plague). William Hurt plays an american doctor working in South America when the Bubonic Plague resurfaces and begins killing people again. This is without a doubt an intensely moving picture.
