The Passion of the Christ - (category: drama) [rating: 4/10]
The highlights of this film were the sets, music, visual effects, and the acting by a few of the main characters (Jesus, Mary, Pilate).
Unfortunately, I think the film lacked some in quality. The story itself, surprisingly, had my friend lost somewhat. He knew the basic story, but he mentioned that the film didn't tell who some of the characters were, etc. I also thought it wasn't very good fiction, and the back story could have been more detailed to make me better understand the true motivation of Jesus was. I'm writing this as though I had no idea what Christianity is, and think that's a good way to judge the storytelling aspects of "The Passion". The movie really left me shockingly unmoved, mostly because I got bored of the pacing. I think Gibson overused slow motion here. The ending was also disappointingly drab. Simpy put, the book's better.
