I LOVE the new GTA's.

But that's not to say they are perfect.

I agree with you about the out of car control, and the gun aspect. Far from perfect. I think the liberty of the game is referring just to the fact that you can play by the missions, or not. Also, you can run around on the streets, go inside a bunch of buildings, and find hidden areas to explore. These aspects make the game that much cooler, and I'm glad games like, say Spiderman 2, are following in its footsteps. I've passed all the missions, but I can still pop it in and spend an hour playing it crusing around in a chopper or trying to kill myself and others around me on a motorcycle
