Well done!! I am in the same boat as you. About 3 years ago I was 6'5" 185 now i'm 6'5" and 230. Never touched anything besides protien and a lot of lifting. It takes time but it does work. In highschool I used to be even worse (6'3" 165). But when I was younger it seems I would never put on mass, just get toned. Perhaps it was because of my workout style, I was much less knowledgable about this stuff.
I definitely second the notion of just sticking with it, doing quiality form, and giving your muscles the time they need to heal.
