I seriously doubt the headlights (assuming the car is built) will resemble the current god-awful teardrop shapes. The new 911s are returning to the familiar round shapes.
As to the prior 928s being beaten on, well, it's sadly true that many folks bought a "supercar" after they depreciated a ton and failed to realize that labor rates for regular maintenance (timing belts, etc.) are still priced at non-depreciated levels. Unless the owners are willing to take care of the cars themselves (like me), chances are that normal routine stuff is being ignored.

http://forums.rennlist.com. There's a 928 forum there with a LOT of owners and a LOT of technical/repair knowledge.
As for the new 928, I doubt it will look like the picture at all.
