Air Pollution from Ordnance Detonation

I don't know if anyone here would be interested (I don't usually visit this subforum), but the EPA has just proposed a set of draft air pollution emission factors for ordnance detonation.

Specifically, they have documents on:
Small Cartridges < 30 mm
Medium Cartridges 30-75 mm
Large Cartridges > 75 mm
Projectiles, Canisters, and Charges
Grenades
Rockets, Rocket Motors, and Igniters
Mines and Smoke Pots
Signals and Simulators
Blasting Caps, Demolition Charges, and Detonators

, and in the future will also publish:
Fuses and Primers
Guided Missiles

These documents are not used to regulate controls on the source categories; rather, they are used in order to obtain an overall picture of air pollution sources, so that the "large" and "easy to control" categories can be identified, either on a nationwide or local level.

The PDFs are available on this page: EPA | AP 42, Fifth Edition, Volume I Chapter 15: Ordnance Detonation | Technology Transfer Network | Clearinghouse for Inventories & Emissions Factors

Until I see some data that says these contribute more than say, .00001 percent of overall pollution, then this is pure silliness, IMO.

When I was doing civil war reinactments, I wasn't infantry....no. We were ARTILLARY!! (RAWRR!)

Anyway, the Colorado state capital was having some sort of commemoration and we were slated to come down and fire our cannon in costume, but some idiot started wondering about how much POLLUTION a half of pound of gun powder would cause and we ended up cancelling.

His car probably put more pollutants into the air on his drive to work that morning.

This is doomed to failure as it doesn't bother to take into account my homemade fireworks or pyrodex-powered potato cannon (that one probably counts as a Destructive Device, so I don't take it out very often.)

What a waste of time. You'd make a bigger dent in air pollution by addressing flatulant cows.

This isn't about the controls. And, if you check the other sections, they also calculate termites and lightening strikes. The only way to understand how to go about controls, and how much effect controling one aspect of it would have, is to understand all components.
