Something for gun nuts this Christmas

"New weapon can fire round corners"

"Soldiers can now pinpoint a target out of their line of sight
A new weapons system that allows soldiers to fire guns round corners has been unveiled in Israel. "

That's pretty ridiculous. Combine that with the X-29 (is that what it's called?) and there are some nasty weapons on the horizon.

Big deal, the Germans had the Night Vision scopes AND a cornershot device during WW2...

The gun Journeyman displays was designed by the russians to be mounted on tanks so they could fire in the blind spot directly beside the tank. If an infantry got close enough to the tank, the regular mounted gun wouldn't be able to fire at them, but the bent barreled ka174 would rain bullets on their heads.

The Corner Shot device can be used with any handgun and enables the user to shoot with maximum accuracy while keeping out of the line of fire.

Using a camera on the gun barrel, a soldier can swivel the device to point at a target without breaking cover.

The russians stole (captured) that device from the Germans who had developed it for the exact same reason. Also they copied the STG-44 and used it to make the now infamous AK-47.

Pic of the STG-44 with the Corner Attachment circa 1944.
