What weapons in your car...???

Just wondering some of the weapons you all keep in ur cars. I personally keep a steel fold out baton, it extends from 7 inches to 24 inches in the twitch of the wrist, it's split a few heads open in it's days.

Moonduck 08-08-2003 08:55 PM

ASP baton, tire irons (IBD - Improvised Bludgeoning Device), and a S&W M-640 for those trips to really rough neighbourhoods.

I count amongst my blessings that I've never had to use any of the weapons I own in anger. My hands and other body parts have been used a time or three to defend myself, but I've managed to evade all armed conflict.

shakran 08-08-2003 09:19 PM

a 30 inch hickory dowel. you can split heads open with one of those, and cops think it's just for a home improvement project ;)

MSD 08-08-2003 09:32 PM

I have a minimum of 2 kinves on me at all times, so nothing gets left in the car, unless I'm going out at night, in which case I bring the pelet pistol in case or racooons on the way to the car. There's a rabies outbreak around here, and a dead raccoon is the only safe raccoon anymore.

dudemac 08-08-2003 10:10 PM

s&w 3" rev attached under the steering wheel and my carry gun of bretta 92 (that i usually put in the crease of the two seats for easy draw)

Exodus 08-08-2003 10:12 PM

Generally I have my knife that I always have on me. Other than that there is always some sort of bludgeoning device lying around the cab.

Slims 08-09-2003 09:54 AM

I have been worried recently about whether an ASP baton would be considered a 'concealed weapon' by an over zealous police officer. As a result, I just have a big maglight where I can easily reach it, and, my handgun when I am carrying.

Ashton 08-09-2003 01:32 PM

A six D cell maglite........... :D

http://www.all-maglite-4-less.com/im...g_d_family.gif

nowthen 08-09-2003 02:35 PM

With you on the 6D cell Ashton, I mean its just a flashlight, right? It was just the first thing that came to hand Officer!

Ashton 08-10-2003 04:00 PM

It's a lead pipe with a light built in, you can knock one out of the park with that baby

TRPF 08-10-2003 04:39 PM

The vehicle is insured by Glock.

;-)

drawerfixer 08-10-2003 05:11 PM

One good knife is all I have, but I only use it to cut open things or threads off of clothes. I know little about knives, and bringing it out would probably get me hurt more than I could do to the 'mugger' or whatnot.

--EDIT-- I mispoke. I don't have a switchblade. It's just a regular folding knife. All better now. :) --EDIT--

Same here, also keep one in my gf's car

SuperMidget 08-11-2003 08:29 AM

FYI Most states a Tactical ASP (expandable steel baton) is governed by CCW laws. However, it may differ in some states.

As for me, Ruger Ranch Rifle mini-14. For the odd coyote or fox I happen to see. Also a few IBD's and assorted knives.

chewybaca96 08-12-2003 12:02 AM

Glock 17 9MM tucked in the seat right next to me.

livewirerc 08-12-2003 05:55 AM

I've got my trusty baseball bat (and a mitt, just in case I get pulled over) in the back of my truck, as well as whatever knife I happen to be carrying (my current favorite looks frighteningly like a straight razor). The bat's broken a few bones in it's day (including one of my fingers before I cut the guy and took it away from him when I was 15), so I know it's effectiveness. One of these days I'm going to get off my ass and get my CCL, then I'll probably use either my 1911 or my Taurus Millennium .45 under the dash.

s8ins child 08-12-2003 10:04 AM

Good idea about the baseball bat and mitt, cus then u can just say how you've been for a few hits in the park.

Caser 08-12-2003 10:34 AM

for me....im more of the bear mace kinda guy...because i have been sprayed with it and i know what kinda hell follows with being sprayed....and when u get caught with it "oh officer were going camping tomorrow, and its in the woods so we need the pepper spray"...so yeah it can take out about 30 people at once .......so im saying anyone who wants a good reliable weapon in there car...bear mace is the way to go........."NOTE TO SELF ALWAYS PUT THE SAFTEY BACK ON AFTER USE...I LEARNED THE HARD WAY"......<-----REALLLY SUCKED

tigerkick 08-12-2003 05:54 PM

pepper spray

DazedMage 08-12-2003 07:48 PM

Ok, that above picture wasn't really my gun. I just used it for the time I was at work. Here is a picture of my gun.

http://webpages.charter.net/lar77/Kimber%236.JPG

It's a Compact Stainless, with Rose Wood grips. It only has a 3 1/2" barrel, but its a fun gun too shoot!

monkeysugar 08-14-2003 12:55 AM

A Gerber Mark II in the center console. For a while I had a survival rifle (.22) under the seat, but that was when I was up in coyote/cougar country.

asquint 08-14-2003 03:09 PM

CRKT Point Guard on visor, 4 D Cell Maglite by seat and usually a Ruger .22 or Remington 7mm mag in the toolbox. Also a CRKT K.I.S.S. C or CRKT M-16 in my pocket.

Go to the junkyard and find a car the same as yours and remove the housing the holds the vehicles computer make sure it still has stickers etc... Mount it under the drivers seat upside down like a drawer place a spring behind it and a latching mechanism on the front line it with foam, etc... to keep weapon quiet. when needed hit release and spring pushes drawer out between legs placing weapon where you need it. If you are stopped and searched the cops will not suspect anything it is justthe computer for the car.

bainatl 08-15-2003 07:47 AM

kalisto_911 08-15-2003 11:02 AM

Just my lighter :D Maybe I should get one of those Baton things

sailor 08-15-2003 12:56 PM

Good lord, where the hell do you guys live? You guys carry around more firepower than a damn soldier.

Xell101 08-15-2003 02:15 PM

We could probably get together and slice out some gang territory.

Grouper 08-15-2003 02:25 PM

Ruger 9 mm.

That is, of course, unless you post the idea in a public forum where a cop may be reading....

As far as I know the donut shops don't have computers set-up for the customers yet. So we shouldn't have to worry about cops reading the posts here. LOL

Devilchild 08-16-2003 05:17 AM

I keep my fists in my car, the only weapon ill ever need, shit man, carrying guns and knifes and stuff could get you done for murder if you used them, if your not planning on using them, why carry them?!?!

Because we plan on using them.....if someone else it attacking us with a weapon and our fists aren't up to the job. Otherwise, to avoid lesser confrontations, we can drive away (these weapons are, after all, in our cars).

Savatage 08-16-2003 11:10 PM

bbq tool with a 16in wooden handle and a rusty blade. a k-bar. a glock 18C by my spare tire. beretta jetfire in the glove.

TWISTEDBADGER 08-17-2003 02:06 AM

KEL-TEC P11. Okay, quit laughing. Lightweight and shoots great(after some minor amateur gunsmithing). No problems yet, and have gone through about 3000 rounds of mixed US manufacture ammo(no, I won't shoot the import stuff). Launching +P from a 5.5 inch 14oz. firearm definitely takes some concentration though.

gobman 08-17-2003 04:41 AM

well, as much as i agree with sailor420 i do feel the need to protect myself, so my entire car is made out of weapns-grade plutonium, whenever someone tries to attack me, i smack their mouth on the hood and make sure they get sa moutful of that shit

Just remember the dumb ass who brought a knife to a gun fight.....

In order to obtain peace, you must prepair for war.

seizei 08-19-2003 12:06 AM

good god I'm glad I live in Canada - you people are scaring me with your arsenals of guns and knives in your cars. I'm quite happy that I don't have to worry about people whipping out their 'glock' if I honk at them.

Gertie 08-19-2003 02:46 AM

A good attitude and the grace of God.

Some of us are soldiers.

A. Rothschild 08-24-2003 11:55 PM

I have an umbrella, a walking cane and a pipe wrench. Also planning to get a knife that would suit nicely next to the driver's seat... maybe a stiletto or a bowie knife.

tear gas. I live in MD and forget about getting a CC permit.

prosequence 09-03-2003 03:18 PM

I think I will choose, the car itself... hitting people at fast speeds usually deters further advancement.

Just remember that "self defense" excuse won't help you much if you had a chance to escape.

If you're backed against a wall, that's different.

LordEden 09-06-2003 12:30 AM

The butt end of a 24oz pool stick, with weighted end. Only about 16 inches long, but it heavy for it's size. Always wanted to get a good set of throwing knifes, but never got around to it. I have to pick up one of those extending batons tho the pool stick has never been used on anyone. Funny thing about maglights, had a roommate who's dad was a cop, his nickname was "flashlight" because he found out he had to fill out less paper work if he just beat the suspect with his flashlight than if he pulled his gun. Never liked hanging around him.

ObieX 09-06-2003 03:57 AM

a Louisville baseball bat :)

Oblivion437 09-06-2003 12:35 PM

Colt 1911 held cocked'n'locked in a holster I strap to my chest. No one can see it, but my Jacket is zipped down, so I can snatch it out damn fast.

By cocked'n'locked I mean the hammer is cocked, but the safety on the left side is up. I draw with my thumb high, so I can snap it down and pull the trigger.

MoNoXiDe_XXX 09-08-2003 11:16 AM

Kali, most practical weapon training i ever took, i mean hell, where can you NOT find to sticks. Broken pool cue, branches, mop/broom handle. But the only thing i keep on me is a knife, cuz i mean, pretty hard to hide stuff on a motorcycle.

geodaro 09-09-2003 12:04 PM

Glock Model 27 (sub-compact .40 caliber) in center console, 4-D Cell Maglight next to driver seat.

almostaugust 09-11-2003 01:26 PM

Ive got the big maglite in my car too.

WarWagon 09-11-2003 02:16 PM

Boxcutter, mini Coca-Cola baseball bat, Walther PPKS (one of the original blued ones made in Germany, not the stainless US version). Don't carry it in the car, but I stopped a guy from stealing one of the cars from the driveway once. He was knelt down, trying to get up under the dash, I went out the side door with my Bushmaster. Pushed the lever to close the bolt and he just froze. Clocked him in the back and sides with the butt of the stock (this is my highpower competition gun, so it has the lead weight beneath the cheekpiece), then went back inside. He didn't take the car, and he didnt come back.

Fire 09-22-2003 07:41 PM

I carry a machete in the trunk- and a lot of ibd's and a funnoodle

Damnfinn 09-27-2003 06:58 AM

just a folding military shovel, a very sturdy wood handle and assembly. It is for digging my truck out, but does have other uses.
My stepfather said it was one of the best close combat weapons in WW2.
