first gun you ever owned
The first gun I evr owned was a black diamond. before that all I had ever shot was a .22 and bb guns. Thought my fuckin arm was gonna fall off when I first fired it.
|
a .22 is gun too. In the U.S. anything over 1000fps is controlled like a firearm, so even one of your bb guns (assuming that's a generic classification) might have been your real first gun. :)
My first was a Remington 870 Competition Trap in 12ga. with a select walnut stock and chromed mag tube. Sweet. Bought it used 24 years ago, and it's technically worth more now than I paid for it. First Pistol was a Ruger 22/45. Sold it pretty quick because the grips were way to small for my hand, but it was a very accurate gun. |
Mine was a marlin 880ss .22lr. It was a great gun with crappy sights.
|
My first gun was a "Chipmunk" .22 that I got at about.. six years old? It is an incredibly tiny .22 rifle, pint-sized even.
|
My first was a Winchester Ranger 12ga pump inherited it from my uncle who used it only once I use it all the time now for bird and deer hunting.
|
mtsgsd, I din't own the other guns, I used them in scouts.
|
my Ruger 10/22 - still have it.
Of course it's been heavily modified since I started shooting. |
My first gun was a single barrel Bakail. Very handy when going around checking traps.
|
The first gun I owned was a Bushmaster AR-15. The first gun I ever shot was my dads trusty old Marlin .22. Still have it, and is still fun to go plinkin with.
|
Remington 870 shotgun....bought it out of a pawn shop in Oklahoma. (I later had it confimred that it wasn't stolen :) )
I still have it, a couple years ago I had it rebuilt by Scattergun Tech....now it looks purty. |

Ruger P-89
Loved that gun, just too bulky |
Mine was a Colt Trooper II revolver in .22LR. Great gun, my grandparents got it for me when I was a baby. They wanted to bu a .44 magnum for me (they'd planned to buy for each of their grandsons and did buy one for every one of my male cousins), but my mother nixed the idea. She didn't do it because she didn't like guns, she just figured I'd be able to use a .22 earlier and thus it'd be more worthwhile.
I loved that little gun and got years of shooting out of it. Sadly, it was stolen by movers the 2nd time we were PCS'ed to Germany, along with all the rest of our guns. If I ever find out who stole that portion of my childhood I'll likely break a few laws regarding private dispensation of justice. About "Chipmunks", My mom has continued the grandparents buying the kids guns family tradition by buying my daughter and son matching Chipmunks in stainless and synthetic stocks. They are so tiny! I'd call em cute, but it's tough to call any gun cute that's matte stainless with a black synth stock and fiber optic insets in the sights. Wish I'd had something that cool as a little one... |
my first gun was a Glock 19.
|
Colt, Series 80 Gold Cup National Match, 45 acp.
Still own and carry it! |
some kinda deadly-ass youth model shotgun. Maybe it seemed worse because I was little, but nothing I've shot since has a kick like that. I only shot it once.
|
Mine is my USP/45 :D
|
The first gun I ever had was a single shot 22.
I was about 9 years old. My dad would give me a few rounds, and tell me..... "this is all you get, make 'em count." It got sold when my family moved out of state for a while. |
12ga shotgun w/ short barrel
|
My first was an H&K USP Compact .40cal. I've since sold it (got out of the .40 caliber), but I have one in 9mm now, as well as a number of other firearms.
|
A Remington Targetmaster bolt action single shot 22, I still have it :)
|
Got a Daisy Red Rider BB gun for my 8th birthday. When I was 12 I was "allowed" to buy a marlin bolt-action .22.
|
My grandfather gave me a bolt action Cooey .22, 12 gauge bolt action Marlin goose gun and a Winchester M-190 .22 for my 12th birthday. All of them used (by him) but well taken care of. My Mom just about had a shit fit hemorrhage when I had opened all the packages but my Dad cooled her down when he told her I wouldn't be allowed to even touch them until after I took the Hunter Education and Safe Handling courses.
|
A Ruger 10/22 for me as well.
Still has the "Hell-Fire'' trigger on it... |
My first gun was purchased when i was 9 y/o just b4 these damn laws that say you have to be 18 to buy a shotgun........
It was a Remmington 1100 Special Field Gas operated Automatic 12ga with a 21 inch barrel...... It is setting 8 ft from me right now |
An Ithaca 4-10 and a Ruger 10/22
|
Remington Model 512 Sportmaster 22 Bolt action with 15 round tube feed under the barrel. Still have it My grandfather gave it to me on my 10th birthday. my dad had promised a gun on 8th birthday, 8th christmas, 9th bd 9th christmas, 10th bd, my Grandpa got tired of his lies and when he saw that I didn't have a 22 under the tree he went into his bedroom and gave me his. I still have it will never part with it. It will put every bullet through one hole with a good rest at 50 yards, any bullet out of the first hole is shooter error.

Where are we, Texas?
Seriously, though, how about I don't even know any enthusiast gun-owners, much less own one myself. |
My first was a Mossberg Model 500 12ga. Shortly thereafter I bought a Winchester model 70 .270. Best gun in the world IMHO.
LSD |
Marlin .22 semi-auto. Had lots of fun with that little gun and put lots of squirrels in an early grave.

Are you the same person that goes into the Ladies Lounge and posts, "none of this stuff makes sense to a male like me!"? |
Remington 870, 12 ga.
Learned on a boy scout .22 whatever, SIG226 9mm, and a HK94. Now if only I could get my hands on the last one again. |
Belgium Browning 1935 HiPower 9mm. Gloss blue, walnut grips, adjustable sights, purchased new in 1979. All factory original. Shoots great, but won't digest anything but ball due to the humped feed ramp. Tried to trade it a few months ago for a H&K USP 40, but got all sentimental and backed out at the last second.
|
Some little .410 double barrel when I was 10. I still have that gun. Great gun, lots of fun to plink with (as much as you can plink with a shotgun, I suppose).
|
My first was a J.C. Higgens single shot .22. A friend of my parents gave it to me when i was three. Still have it and it still shoots (less the rifling in the barrel...hehe)
|
First shotgun was a Browning Citori (sp?) Lightning
First pistol was a 92FS :D |
A Ruger .243, my dad bought it for me when i was 13...still have it great gun
|
My first gun was a savage 12ga side by side double barrel
|
single shot, Sears (yes Sears and Roebuck) .22 rifle. Killed all kinds of stuff with it and still have it.
|
